We are available to sing at weddings in Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe, All Saints Church, Malborough and Holy Trinity Church, Galmpton. We do advise you to book as early as possible since we can only commit to around 5 weddings per year. All communication should be through Debbie Hamilton, our weddings co-ordinator. (details in Who's who)
We hope you will find the information here helpful.
We are a fairly informal choir of around 50 members with the emphasis on enthusiasm and energy! We would normally expect at least 20-30 singers to be available for each wedding. We are happy to join in any hymns you have chosen so do let Caroline or the Benefice Office know in good time so that we can have a look at them. We recommend that you look at our current repertoire and then decide during which parts of your service you would like us to sing. We can sing at the Entrance of the Bride, during the Signing of the register and for the Recessional. Many couples choose organ music or recorded music for the ‘Entrance of the bride’ and/or for the ‘Recessional.’ We are happy to be as flexible as you would like. Should you want us to sing during the signing of the register we recommend that you choose 2 songs.
Please choose from the list below. We appreciate that you may have a song that is significant for you and your partner but if it is not on our list it is unlikely that we will be able to learn it specifically for your wedding. However, a recording can be played through the church sound system. We hope you appreciate that we cannot learn new music for every wedding. As a local community choir we are made up of a cross-section of people, some retired, some working, young parents and local business owners. They all give their time to the Gospel choir and rehearse regularly but many are extremely busy during the summer. Because of this we commit ourselves to only five weddings and one charity concert each year, as well as supporting a number of community events. Our rehearsals are filled with learning Gospel songs, and preparing for these events.
You are welcome to turn up to one of our scheduled rehersals to hear us practise, if you wish to. To find out schedule please click here in order to find out. If you would to listen to some of our repertoire, please click here and you'll be directed to our music gallery (please note these are amateur recordings). Also on the ‘Diary’ page you will find a schedule of events with details of concerts that we are doing this year and if you get the opportunity we highly recommend you attend one of these to hear us at our best.
Our wedding fee is £250.00 (£50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking) and should be made in advance to the Benefice Office please. We need some extra ‘Order of Service’ sheets for the choir (about 15 – 20 please) but these can of course be cheap photocopies.
